Assistant Professor of Economic History (Radboud University)

The expertise group in Economic, Social and Demographic History at Radboud University is looking for a colleague who can teach Economic History covering Early Modern and Contemporary History, whose research interests complement our section’s expertise and include at least one of the following topics

  • economic history in relation to life course and the family
  • financial aspects of slavery and slave trade
  • the history of inequality from a micro-perspective
  • digital humanities

As an assistant professor you will be part of the Department of History, Art History and Classics and you will participate in its educational programme at all levels, both in Dutch and English. You will teach in Dutch- and English-taught BA programmes in History, providing specialised courses in the field of Economic, Social and Demographic History, as well as general courses. At the Master’s level, you will participate in the Dutch-taught specialisation in Geschiedenis & Actualiteit as well as in the Research Master’s programme in Historical, Literary and Cultural Studies. You will supervise students writing their papers and theses, participate in educational support activities such as tutoring, and actively contribute to the further development of the curriculum.As a researcher, your research will be embedded in the Radboud Institute for Culture & History.
