Temporary Lecturer History of International Relations (0.7 FTE)
Teaching and research in the HIR group (chaired by Prof. Dr. Jolle Demmers) is centred around three themes: Conflict and Security; Europe in the World; and Global and Imperial Relations. Applicants are requested to demonstrate how their past performance is relevant to one or several of these themes. At the same time, candidates are expected to teach on a wide range of subjects, including those beyond their own expertise, as well as assuming administrative tasks, and participate in curriculum design, course coordination and thesis supervision.
The successful candidate will have
- experience teaching undergraduate students and a commitment to thesis and internship supervision;
- a PhD degree or far advanced PhD trajectory in international history or a related discipline;
- research expertise in the History of International Relations or a related discipline;
- the ability to contribute to research-led postgraduate courses;
- the ability to contribute to the academic life of the department.
Utrecht University has a teaching qualification system for university lecturers, and candidates are required to obtain the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO) within two years if they are not already in possession of one.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a position of 0.7 FTE for the duration of 3-4 years. The minimum gross salary is €2,790 and the maximum gross salary is €5,127 (scale 10-11 of the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities) per month, at a full-time employment.
Besides that, you will receive a holiday allowance of 8 % and a year-end bonus of 8.3 %.
